Past Tense-এর চারটি Form আছে

1. Past Indefinite or Simple Tense 
2. Past Continuous Tense or Progressive Tense
3. Pest Perfect Tense
4. Pest Perfect continuous Tense

Past Indefinite Tense

সাধারণ ভাবে অতীত কালে হওয়া কোনো ঘটনা কে বোঝালে Past Indefinite Tense হয়।
Ex - You went to Simla last year.

মোটামুটি আমরা সারাদিন যত বাক্য ব্যবহার করি সে গুলি চার ধরণের হয়। 

1- Affirmative.(হাঁ -বাচক )

2- Negative(না - বাচক )

3- Interrogative(প্রশ্নবোধক )

4- Interrogative Negative.(প্রশ্নবোধক না-বাচক)

Affirmative Sentence

এই Tense-এ Affirmative Sentence গঠন করতে হলে Subject -এর পরে verb-এর Past Form টা  বসবে তারপর Other Words,

মূল Verb-এর Past Form টা  কি ?

• Go / Went / Gone 
• See / Saw  / Seen 

এদের মধ্যে মাঝের রূপটা (যেমন  Went  / Saw ) হলো Verb এর Past Form এর রূপ

[S+V-past+Other words]

Ex-

1. I saw the thief. আমি চোরটাকে দেখেছিলাম।
2. You broke the cup. তুমি কাপটা ভেঙেছিলে 
3. They heard the sound. তারা শব্দটা শুনেছিল
4. The boy sang a song. ছেলেটা একটি গান গেয়েছিল 

'Be' verb in Simple Past

Be verb এর  Past form হলো  was/were. Subject Singular (একটা ) বোঝালে  was বসে।  subject plural (একাধিক) বোঝালে  were বসে। 

যেমন :- 

1. He was Happy. ----------------সে সুখী ছিল। 
2. They were rich.-----------------তারা ধোনি ছিল। 
3. I was courageous.-------------আমি সাহসী ছিলাম।
4. The boys were intelligent.---ছেলেগুলি বুদ্ধিমান ছিল। 

'Have' Verb in Simple Past

Have Verb-এর Past form---Had.

1. I had a nice doll.------------আমার একটি সুন্দর পুতুল ছিল। 
2. You have a costly pen.----তোমার একটি দামি কলম ছিল। 
3. he had a new shirt.----------তার একটা নতুন জামা ছিল।

Negative Sentence

S+Aux/did+Neg/not+V-present+other words

1. He did not eat rice.------------সে ভাত  খায়নি।
2. We did not go there.-----------আমরা সেখানে যায়নি।
3. They did not play well.-------তারা ভালো খেলেনি।
4. She did not help me.--------- সে আমাকে সাহায্য করিনি।
5. I did not buy any pen.---------আমি কোনো কলম কিনিনি.

Interrogative Sentence
Aux+S+V.Present+Other words

1. Did you see the tiger?
2. Did she help you?
3. Did he come here?

Be Verb Past +S+Other words

1. Was he a good man?
2. Were you happy then?
3. Had he any friend?
4. Had you any car?

Who+V-Past+Other

Who দিয়ে প্রশ্ন 

1. Who came to you ?
2. Who helped the old man?
3. Who was there then?
4. Who had a car?

W/H Words দিয়ে প্রশ্ন 

Wh+Aux+S+V.Present+Other

1. When did you come here?
2. Why did the boy cry out?
3. Where did he go Yesterday?
4. Whom did you see?
5. What did he tell you?
6. How did you do it?

Aux+Neg/not+S.Noun+V.Present+Other words
Aux+S.pronoun+Neg/not+V.Present+Other words

1. Did not Akhil help you? -------------অখিল কি তোমায় সাহায্য করেনি ?
2. Did he not help you? ------------------সে কি তোমায় সাহায্য করিনি ?
3. Did not Sita give you the book?----- সীতা কি তোমায় বইটা দেয়নি ?
4. Did he not tell you anything?---------সে তোমায় কিছু বলেনি ?

• Past Tense (অতীত কাল) কাকে বলে? কত প্রকার ও কি কি? অতীত কালের কোন কাজ এবং অতীতের কোন অভ্যাস কে বোঝাতে past tense ব্যবহৃত হয়। The past tense is used to express an action that occurred in the past. This tense is classified into four categories.
